The Emerald Isle in Kensal Green
Date: 11:00 16th March 2024
Guided walk of Irish Connections at Kensal Green Cemetery
Saturday, 16 March 2024 at 11 am.
Come for a walk with a distinctly Irish flavour on the eve of St Patrick’s Day. Politics, law and order, medicine, music, literature and art will all feature in this celebratory walk. En route you will hear about a Dublin man who made his mark on the metropolitan police force, the ‘derring do’ of a very different medical practitioner, an aristocratic Sligo family, a gifted Limerick soprano, two artists who each made their mark in the world of portraiture and illustration and a charismatic political orator.
Meet inside the cemetery by the gate to the drive-in entrance (Crematorium and car park), opposite Hazel Road.
After the walk join us for free refreshments and a chat at the Dissenters’ Chapel.
£12 per person - standard admission,
£10 concessions (students, over 65 and English Heritage members).
Free for members of the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery (advance booking required)
