General Cemetery Bill receives its first reading in Parliament

The private bill being promoted in Parliament by the General Cemetery Company received its first reading, in the House of Lords, on Wednesday 22 January 2025.

The General Cemetery Bill, associated publications and reports on progress through Parliament can be found on the Parliamentary website here.

Individuals and organisations who consider themselves detrimentally affected by any of the provisions of the Bill may petition Parliament with their objections.  Guidance and forms can be found in the Publications section of the Bill's webpages. 

The closing date for petitions to the Lords is 6 February 2025.
