General Cemetery Bill moving forward
Posted: 2nd March 2025
In February, the General Cemetery Bill received its second reading in the House of Lords, and also the endorsement of the Parliamentary examiners testing the extent to which owners, members and directors of the Company consent to the provisions of the Bill.
The period allowed for petitions to be submitted by people and organisations affected by the Bill expired on 6 February. One petition was submitted to Parliament, from the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery.
The Bill now moves forward to a Committee stage, which may occur in the next three or four months.
