Jane Loudon's Flowers: A Botanical Illustration Workshop
Date: 12:00 15th August 2026

Join us for a unique afternoon of creativity as we celebrate the legacy of Jane Loudon (1800–1858), a pioneering gardening writer and botanical illustrator.
Spend three relaxing hours making art in a friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome, regardless of skills and experience! If drawing from scratch feels intimidating, you'll have the option of starting with a pre-sketched outline, ready to add your own details and colours.
Using one of Loudon's botanical illustrations as inspiration, you'll create your own artwork while enjoying gentle guidance on techniques and materials, with absolutely no pressure or judgement. The focus is on slowing down, enjoying the creative process, and celebrating Jane's remarkable legacy.
The workshop is led by artist, botanical illustrator and experienced art tutor Marta Ambrozej, author of the Whispers of the Forgotten blog, trustee of the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery and one of the tour guides there.
